Dear Neighbor,
I hope this email finds you well. It’s been another productive month, both here in Onslow County and in Raleigh, as I’ve stayed focused on the work you sent me to do — standing up for our military families, supporting our schools, and making sure our community’s voice is heard.
Whether it’s meeting with constituents, working through legislation, or preparing for the upcoming legislative short session, my priority remains delivering real results for the people I represent.
As always, if you have a question, concern, or need help navigating state government, my office is here to serve you.
At your service,
Michael Lazzara
North Carolina Senator
DELIVERING RESULTS FOR VETERANS & MILITARY FAMILIES

As a Marine and your State Senator, I am honored to represent nearly 50,000 veterans and two active-duty military bases here in Onslow County. Service runs deep in our community, and I remain committed to fighting in the NC General Assembly for our troops’ mission readiness — and for the support their families deserve at home. Join our efforts at www.LazzaraNC.com!
SOUTHEAST REGION TEACHER OF THE YEAR

I am honored to congratulate Cason Justice of Swansboro High School on being named the Southeast Regional North Carolina Teacher of the Year.
This prestigious recognition reflects Mr. Justice’s outstanding achievements in education and his dedication to serving the students of Onslow County. Through his dedication, creativity, and focus on student success, Mr. Justice represents the very best of our educators.
NATIONAL WOMEN & GIRLS IN SPORTS DAY

Sports shape leaders. Earlier this month on National Girls & Women in Sports Day, we recognized the women and girls across North Carolina who are learning resilience, confidence, and teamwork through athletics.
From youth leagues to collegiate competition, female athletes continue to inspire their communities and prove that dedication and discipline pay off. I will always work to ensure fairness and opportunity so every girl can compete and thrive.
REMINDER: TOWN HALL ON FEB. 21

Mark your calendar and join me for a coffee & conversation Town Hall on Saturday, February 21 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Rotary Conference Center in Jacksonville.
We’ll cover important topics like veterans & military families, commercial fishing, infrastructure, and more.
I want to hear directly from YOU as we prepare for the upcoming session in Raleigh. Come share your thoughts and help shape the future of Onslow County and the state!
THANK YOU, NC DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION!

A big THANK YOU to our hardworking NCDOT crews who were out there non-stop — prepping before the recent winter storm and then clearing roads as quickly and safely as possible. Their dedication keeps North Carolina moving, even when the weather tries to slow us down. We see you, and we appreciate you!
