Dear Neighbor,
As we pass the "crossover" mark of the legislative session, I’m proud to report real progress on the issues that matter most to North Carolina families.
From strengthening parental rights and protecting farmland, to cutting red tape in healthcare and standing up for our veterans, farmers, and first responders — we’re advancing common-sense legislation that reflects our Onslow County values.
I’m especially honored to be recognized for my work connecting youth with the outdoors and to continue supporting the brave firefighters and community leaders who make North Carolina a great place to call home.
As always, my office is here to serve you — don’t hesitate to reach out.
At your service,
Michael Lazzara
North Carolina Senator
NC SENATE CROSSOVER HIGHLIGHTS

Crossover Week is behind us, and I’m proud to report the NC Senate moved forward practical, common-sense legislation, including:
The SCRIPT Act (SB 479): Strengthens community pharmacies and boosts transparency by giving patients more freedom to choose where they get their prescriptions, especially in underserved areas.
Title Fraud Prevention (SB 423): Helps combat real estate title fraud by requiring ID verification when recording property documents, protecting North Carolinians from scams and unlawful transfers.
The Farmland and Military Protection Act (SB 394): Protects North Carolina land and military bases by banning ownership of agricultural land and property near bases by adversarial foreign governments.
The Farmers Protection Act (SB 554): Prohibits banks from discriminating against farmers based on their use of traditional practices like fossil fuels and fertilizers.
HOA Reform (SB 378): Provides homeowners more rights and transparency, requiring fair procedures from homeowners’ associations and limiting predatory fines and contract terms.
The Parents Protection Act (SB 442): This bill reinforces parental rights by ensuring parents can raise their children consistent with their biological sex without fear of state interference.
Repeal of Certificate of Need Laws (SB 370): Cuts red tape in healthcare by repealing burdensome regulations that limited competition and access to care, particularly in underserved areas.
From protecting parental rights to securing farmland and cutting red tape in healthcare — we’re delivering results that matter to North Carolina families.
YOUTH OUTDOOR ENGAGEMENT

It’s an honor to be named the 2025 Legislator of the Year by the N.C. Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission. I’m proud to support programs that connect our young people with North Carolina’s natural beauty, teaching responsibility, leadership, and a love for the outdoors. Together, we’re investing in the next generation of stewards of our state.
NCFRW RED DAY AT THE NCGA

Earlier this month, we were honored to welcome members of the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women to the NC General Assembly for their annual Red Day — including an outstanding group of ladies from our very own Onslow County chapter.
Their energy, patriotism, and commitment to conservative values continue to make a strong impact across our state. Thank you for your advocacy, engagement, and dedication to keeping North Carolina prosperous and free!
SUPPORTING NC FIRE FIGHTERS

It was great to speak with the NC Firefighters Association and catch up with my friend Brian Kelly, our former Fire Chief.
I'm grateful for the dedication and service of firefighters across NC — public servants who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.
